6954. Pierre Dit Laverdure Doucet
He was a mason and, after the fall of Port-Royal in 1654, he and his son
sought refuge in Quebec where his first wife died and his son, Germain,
spent many years. Father and son returned to Acadia, probably around
1660 (Arsenault, Vol 2, page 506). In the 1678 Port Royal census, he
and Henriette Pelletret had 1.5 acres, 10 cattle, 1 gun, five sons ages
17, 12, 14, 6, and 3 months, and two daughters ages 10 and 3.
