JUNE REPORTS
Sunday, June 4, 2000 -- The month of June got off to a good start with 46 present for Sunday School, 56 attending the Morning Worship, 6 first time visitors, and one addition. One young man expressed his desire to join the work on the promise of a letter. We are thankful to God for another addition and truly give Him all the praise. The work on our new building will soon begin in earnest. The order has been placed for the laminated beams, the final clearing of our property has been done, and we are preparing to have the slab poured soon. Please continue to remember us in your prayers, and in your financial support as you can. We thank the Lord for you and pray His blessings upon each one of you.
Sunday, June 11, 2000 -- Sometimes it is difficult to account for the "roller coaster" effect of attendance in the Lord's churches. Our numbers fell off a little today with only 39 present for Sunday School and 41 attending the Morning Worship. Although there were visitors present, there were no first time visitors this week. A member of one family that had visited for the first time last Sunday was involved in a very serious automobile accident this past week. Please remember them in your prayers. We are ready to start building. Please continue to remember us before the throne of grace and our sponsoring church, Bethel MBC in Ashdown, as well. Thank you for your prayers and support, and may the Lord bless you for your faithfulness.
Sunday, June 18, 2000 -- On this Father's Day our attendance improved from last week. Forty-three were present for Sunday School, with 53 in the Morning Worship services. There were three first time visitors. We continue to be excited at the prospect of building. We have contacted our concrete man and have set a date for the pouring of the foundation of our new facilities. Of course, there are many things that must be done before hand, such as getting temporary power to the building site and getting the plumbing and electrical in the slab. Once again we ask for your prayers as we begin this phase of the work. We thank you for both your prayers and financial support in the past and know that you will bring us before the Lord as this project continues. It is our prayer that our Lord would richly bless you in your labor for Him.
Sunday, June 25, 2000 -- Although attendance figures were down slightly today, the Lord blessed with another addition. There were 39 present for Sunday School and 41 in the Morning Worship. One lady expressed her desire to join upon profession of faith and baptism. We thank the Lord for His continued blessings upon this work, and we thank you for your prayers and faithful support.
The concrete man should begin setting forms for the foundation in just a few days, and the mission members are getting excited at the thought of actually starting on the construction of the new building. Please pray that all will go well and that the Lord will be glorified in this endeavor.
1999 REPORTS
Sunday, June 6, 1999 -- Just as May got off to a good start, the summer slump hit us in June. Attendance was down considerably with sixteen in Sunday School and nineteen in the morning worship. We continue to rejoice, however, as we see first-time visitors in our services and as we visit with prospects. We ask for you to continue to pray for us and, if the Lord leads, your financial support as well. We thank our God for each one who has an interest in this work in the city of Hope.
Sunday, June 13, 1999 -- The summer slump continues as our attendance today was about what it was last week (14 for Sunday School and 19 for Morning Worship, with one first-time visitor). We were blessed when one young lady came forward in the evening services professing Christ as savior and seeing Scriptural baptism. As always, we thank you for your prayers and for your financial support. Please continue to pray for us and the work here, and may God richly bless each one.
Sunday, June 20, 1999 -- Our report for today will be brief as we are preparing to leave for the ABA Messenger Meeting in Dallas. Our attendance got back closer to "normal" today as 25 were present for Sunday School and 30 for the Morning Worship, with 8 first-time visitors! We can only praise God for His goodness and thank you for your prayers. May God bless you richly, and we hope to see you in Dallas.
Sunday, June 27, 1999 -- Although our attendance dropped back a little from last week (22 in Sunday School and 25 in Morning Worship, with 2 visitors), we continue to be encouraged by the good number who were present -- especially when you consider that a year ago we had fewer than ten present for either service. God has truly blessed this work and the efforts of Bro. Fulmer. Continue to pray for us as we attempt to establish a strong, doctrinally sound New Testament church in the city of Hope. We thank you for your prayers and financial support and pray for God's richest blessings upon you all.
1998 REPORTS
Sunday, June 7 -- We enjoyed good services once again today at Landmark MBM. The presence of two visitors added to our joy in the services. The man and his wife are presently members of a BMAA church in the Hope area, but who knows what the Lord might do in impressing upon their hearts the need for their joining us in the work at Landmark! I have been preaching through the book of Nehemiah on Sunday afternoons with the theme of building (or, actually, rebuilding) a work for the Lord. These messages have been timely and well received by those attending the services. Please continue to pray for Bethel MBC and Landmark MBM as we attempt to do the Lord's work in Hope.
Sunday, June 14 -- Even though the attendance was down a little, we still enjoyed good services at Landmark MBM. We continue to look forward to hearing from the man we have called as our missionary on this field. Next week Bro. Raymond Hicks, who was instrumental in originating the work at Hope, will be filling the pulpit in both services as Bro. Crane and Bro. Harris will be attending the ABA in Lexington. Please pray for Bro. Hicks and the mission members in these services.
Sunday, June 21 -- We thank Bro. Raymond Hicks for filling the pulpit today for Bros. Crane and Harris as they attended this year's session of the ABA in Lexington, Kentucky. The spirit and fellowship of the mission members continues to be good, though the number in attendance is small. We believe that once we get a missionary on the field that we will see this increase. Please continue to remember us in your prayers.
Sunday, June 28 -- It was good to be back home and back to the old "routine." Several members from Bethel attended the afternoon services today at Landmark MBM. This certainly helped with the number in attendance! One of the mission members had to work today, and this, apparently, affected his entire family. We continue to wait for an answer from the man we called as missionary to Hope. Pray with us that we will soon have an answer and that the delay in finding a missionary will not cause the people at Landmark to become discouraged. May God richly bless you.
