DECEMBER REPORTS
-
Sunday, December 3, 2000 -- The Lord has certainly been good to us and blessed us with another good day today. We had 52 present for Sunday School, and 59 attended the Morning Worship services. There were 3 first time visitors. We have several families attending that could make committments to the Lord through this work. Please remember these in your prayers.
The work on the building continues. As we have noted in our November report two brethren from County Avenue MBC in Texarkana are here finishing the inside framing for us. When this is completed we will begin the insulation work. We are planning a work day for next Saturday, December 9. Please continue to remember us in your prayers. We appreciate your prayers and your continued financial support, and our request to God is that He would richly bless you all.
-
Sunday, December 10, 2000 -- The Lord blessed with another addition at Landmark as a young boy came forward on his profession of faith and seeking Scriptural baptism. There were 42 present for Sunday School and 48 in the Morning Worship service. There was one first time visitor.
Work on the building has slowed slightly, mainly due to the weather. Many of the mission members participated in our work day to clean up around the building site. We hope to begin putting up insulation and then the sheetrock very shortly. Lord willing, we hope to be in the new building by the end of the first quarter, or at least by the second quarter of 2001. Please pray for us in this matter. As always, we thank you for your prayers and financial support and pray God's richest blessings upon you all.
-
Sunday, December 17, 2000 -- Attendance rose slightly from last week. Forty-six were present for Sunday School, and 54 attended the Morning Worship service. There were 3 first time visitors. On Wednesday of this next week, we are scheduled to meet with our sponsoring church and representatives of a pew manufacturing company from Oklahoma. The mission members anxiously await the completion and occupation of our new building. Please remember us in your prayers. Thank you for your prayerful support as well as your offerings. We know that our Lord will bless you for your faithfulness to this work.
-
Sunday, December 24, 2000 -- Although the holiday took many of the regular families away from Landmark today, our attendance held fairly steady. Forty-one were present for Sunday School, and 53 attended the Morning Worship services. There were several first time visitors. We praise the Lord for His continued blessings upon this work and for the fact that there are still many who could make decisions about membership and service of the Lord here. Thank you, and may God bless you richly for your prayers and offerings. Please continue to remember us in your prayers.
-
Sunday, December 31, 2000 -- Between the weather and the holidays, the attendance at Landmark could have been severely affected these past few weeks. However, the members have remained faithful, and the numbers have stayed relatively high. Today, due to the heater being out in the Sunday School area, we were forced to have only a worship service beginning at 10:30. Still, there were 39 present for this service. We thank the Lord for the faithfulness of these and for His continued blessings upon this work.
Of course, due to the inclement weather, work on the building is at a virtual standstill. The brick layer has changed starting dates several times, and there are still items of electrical and plumbing work that need to be done. Please continue to remember us in your prayers, and we thank you and ask the Lord to bless you for your prayers and offerings.
1999 REPORTS
-
Sunday, December 5, 1999 -- Our attendance rebounded from last Sunday's slump with 28 in Sunday School, 32 in the Morning Worship, and five first time visitors. Two of our visitors were an older man and his wife, and the others were a mother and her two small children. We continue to be excited about the work on our new building. Bro. Marion Reed is currently working on our plans, and we will soon be getting bids from various contractors. Please continue to pray for us as we enter this building program. We thank you for your prayers in the past and for your financial support. May God richly bless you all.
-
Sunday, December 12, 1999 -- Attendance was good again this week as 29 were present for Sunday School and 30 attended the Morning Worship. We continue to have first time visitors, and there are several attending who need to make committments to serve the Lord. Thank you for your prayers and offerings. Please continue to remember us before the Lord. We pray that God will bless each of you and that you all will have a good Christmas holiday.
-
Sunday, December 19, 1999 -- The Lord blessed us with good attendance and NINE first time visitors. The good news is that we had 34 in Sunday School and 35 in the Morning Worship -- even with 14 (yes, 14) of our regulars absent. One man, who had visited for the first time last week, returned with his family, and we had one family from Harrison, Arkansas visiting in the services. We can only praise God for these good tidings. Please continue to remember us in your prayers. We truly appreciate your prayerful and financial support and pray that God richly bless you. May you have all the best in the year to come.
-
Sunday, December 26, 1999 -- The holidays apparently took their toll on attendance this last Sunday of December at the mission. Twenty-two were present for Sunday School, and the same number attended the Morning Worship. We continue to have visitors, though, for which we are thankful. Please continue to remember us in your prayers as we enter into the year 2000. As always, we thank you for your support and desire God's richest blessings upon you all.
1998 REPORTS
-
Sunday, December 6 -- Attendance increased a bit in Sunday School and fell a little in Morning Worship today. We had a totals of 15 and 19 respectively. Bro. Fulmer made over 30 visits last week, and the visitation effort is paying off. Lately, we have regularly seen first-time visitors in the services. We realize that the "holiday season" is going to cause folks to be busier than usual. We just pray that they don't get so busy that they forget to assemble together with us. Please continue to remember us in your prayers, and, as the Lord leads, in your financial support. We thank our Lord for each of our sister churches and for their desire to see a New Testament church (re)established in the city of Hope.
-
Sunday, December 13 -- Our numbers were up a little in Sunday School and the morning worship service today. We had totals of 19 and 20 respectively. Attendance also continues to be good in the Sunday evening services. Last Sunday evening a young lady came forward desiring to unite with Landmark MBM on the promise of a letter from another Baptist church (BMA) in the area. There are many others who need to make the same committment. Please continue to pray that these will see the need of becoming a part of this work and will follow the Lord's leadership in this matter. Thank you once more for your prayers and financial support, and, as always, may the Lord richly bless you for your faithfulness.
-
Sunday, December 20 -- The holidays adversely affected attendance this week with Sunday School attendance at 15 and eighteen attending the morning worship. One family had visitors come and and decided to stay at home with them instead of bringing them to church. Others were either ill or out of town. However, we were blessed with the presence of several first-time visitors in the services. Continue to pray for us through this holiday season, and visit Landmark MBM when you can. Thank you for your prayers and offerings, and may God truly bless each one of you, especially at this festive time of year.
-
Sunday, December 27 -- Praise the Lord for His blessings! This last Sunday of 1998 has been a great one at Landmark MBM. Bro. Fulmer reports an attendance of 17 for Sunday School, 30 in Morning Worship, 5 first time visitors, and two additions -- a man and his wife coming on the promise of a letter from a BMAA church in town. A total of 27 attended the Evening Worship services. That number included eight first time visitors. As always, we thank you for your prayers and financial support, and, most of all, we thank our Lord from whom all these blessings come.
