Joseph Jacque and his twin brother Pierre Paul Naquin came to Louisiana on the ship St. Remi along with their parents Ambroise & Elizabeth BOURG NAQUIN. At first they lived together with their parents along the west side of Bayou Lafourche (at NAQUIN Settlement) but after they were married Pierre Paul moved to the East side of the Bayou ( in the neighborhood of Dixie Plantation). It is said they he moved to avoid family conflicts.
It would seem from this that Joseph Jacques is the progenitor of most of the NAQUIN'S in the Assumption parish area, and Pierre Paul is the progenitor of the NAQUIN'S in the Thibodaux area.
