I totally agree with you and will pray with you that someone will get a handle on this problem. One of the biggest roadblocks is that the people who could make a difference don't see it as a problem. I have a 6-year-old grandson who is just starting to etting on the computer by himself -- it scares me to think about the sites he could stumble into. Everyone screams about the protection of the First Amendment, but what about the protection of our children. Those in power are so concerned about appeasi g an amoral society that they don't seem to care that they are helping to create another generation of amoral people by doing nothing about this problem. I am an adult and I was amazed at all the porno e-mails that I received after just one time in a chat room where I went to ask for help because I was new to the internet. I want to be able to meet and talk to new people, but why do I have to wade through ll the "junk mail" to get to the mail I want? And what about all the warnings that I get from friends about don't accept this and that? Now, I have to worry about someone trying to steal my identity over the internet or wreck my computer that I worked and saved several years before I could buy it ...... I agree so strongly that I already have written to my council members, State Representatives, Senators, governer, and just about anyone else I thought would listen to a screaming woman. I have a husband who would like all that trash banned and I have a 2 year old I do not wish to have assaulted by this trash. I will back any program or movement to make these people place warnings on their sites so that people who do not wish to see them and/or children will be able to avoid them. I am not trying to say hey may not, in my opinion, have such a site, simply that I feel they need to be regulated like any other commerical site on the web.
