So... you want to Host an Event Weekend??
Let's see if I can help...

I was very intimidated at first to host an Event Weekend. I figured it would be too hard, but I was nicely surprised!! I do however, believe that there are a couple things that you must know how to do to be able to host an Event.
**You should have some kind of knowledge of HTML. I do not know nearly everything about making a web page. You just must be able to set up a page and a table for your schedule.
** I also suggest that you know some of the in's and outs of hosting in WA. (It always helps to know what the games are that you are scheduling)

Here are some steps to follow;
1) First you need to think of a theme... eg; Spring, Silliness, a colour.. anything you can think of. Then you need to find a date that is good for you... can be one or two days
2) Then you need to email both Acolyte Lynx, he has recently take over control of Events. His email address is... Jmhagen@mindspring.com. Let's all wish him luck and give thanks, for taking over this daunting job.
3) Then.. if the date is available and you are confirmed for your Event, all systems are a go.

** I suggest having the shell of the schedule set up before you start getting hosts signing up. This way, they will know what time the Event is starting, date, and how many slots are available. **
** I believe that it is best to have at least 2 games/time slot, and trying to make them 2 different game types (speed, word, trivia, luck) **
4) a) The quickest & easiest way to get ahold of most of the hosts is through Little Princess. Email her, or contact her inworld. Tell her you have an Event Scheduled and you would like to notify hosts. She has a great, fairly complete list of hosts that have signed up with her to be emailed a notice when a new Event is being scheduled. The hosts will then contact you by email or inworld. (note- if you are a host.. and would like to be added, go sign yourself up at her page)
b) Advertise your Event via macro or just using the URL on your avie. You will be surprised at how quickly the schedule will be filled.
** Try to keep you schedule updated often, so that hosts signing up will know what slots are taken.**
** Don't forget to get a full list of Event Prize winners from your hosts after their games are over and post them on the schedule page or another page linked to your schedule page.**

FAQ
1) Can I pick my prizes for the event?
-you can pick colours
-you can suggest some items, but there is no guarantee that you will get exactly what you asked for. Some items are just "ungettable" (frown) or "reserved" (bigger frown)
** Keep in mind when picking your theme, that your items will be somewhat kept within if (g)**
2) What about a special prize lottery?
-you can ask for a special prize lottery... you may choose from either a butterfly or 5 customization globes. (you may also want to "suggest" some other special thing you've been dreaming for... you never know.)
