In the name of god Almighty the xxxth  day of August the xxiiij
year of the reigne of our Sovereign Ladie Elizabeth by the grace
of god of Englande ffrance and Ireland Quene defender of the
faithe ..... Anno Die 1582  I John Selfe of the parish of
Woodforde and in the diocese of newe Sarum husbandman being
sicke and weake of body but perfytt of mynde and memory
grace be given to almighty god doe make my last will and
Testament in manner and forme followinge  ffirst I give and
bequeath my Soule to almighte god my maker to Jesus Xrte
my redeemer and to the hollie Ghost my comforter  and my body
to be buryed in the churche or churchyard of the parish of Woodforde
aforesayde to the whiche churche I give and bequeathe xii d
Item I give and bequeath to the cathedrall churche of the
virgin Mary in newe Sarum  vi d   Item I give and bequeath
to my sonne George Selfe one house one whole barton  Item I
give to Alexander Selfe the sonne of the forenamed George
ten shepe the which shall remayne with his sayde father
until he come to the aidge of ten years  Item I give and bequeath
more to the sayde Alexander Selfe one sowe to be in the
kepinge of his grandmother Selfe  Item I give to the same Alexander
one brasse pott  Item I give and bequeath to Margery Selfe
the daughter of George Selfe ten shepe to be in the custody
of your said father untill she come to the aidge of ten years
Item I give unto the same Margery one sowe to be in the
kepynge of her grandmother Selfe  Item I give unto Shirgold
Godwyn my godsonne one chilver lambe  Item I give to my
godsonne dwellinge in fforde one ewe and a lambe  The rest
of all my goods moveable and immoveable not given nor bequeathed
I doe give and bequeath to Margery Selfe my wife whome I make
and ordayne my whole Executrix of this my last will and testament
If it happen the forenamed Alexander or Margery to decease the
one before the other before they come to lawful years
that then the longest lyver to enjoy the whole somme to
them before bequeathed  witnesse hereunto Richard
