WILLIAM THOMAS ALLISON

submitted by Georgia Hornbuckle

William Thomas Allison born in Madison Co Ala and buried in Murchison Cemetery in Farmersville, TX. Married Rachel Ann Harless. This couple's children married into many Collin Co. Families.

If you were ever in Farmersville and went into the Dry Goods Store and later to Dyer's Drug Store - You knew Annie May Smith. She worked until she was passed @ 95 yrs old. She would never disclose her age, because she wanted to be out talking to people. The last thing she told me was, "I just went to pot when I quit work" She was 96 then and lived a couple of years after that. She was a People person. She looked about 65. In December 1999 Annie May Smith died in Missouri at the home of her daughter. She lived for 98 years in Farmersville.

Her brother, Burton was a happy face at the Farmersville Post Office. They died less than 2 weeks apart. Both belonged to the First Baptist Church of Farmersville, where he was a Deacon. Burton married Mildred Evans and Annie Mae married Jennings Bryan Smith. Both Farmersville families.
Louis Leonard Allison b. Madison Co Alabama to Wm. T. Allison and Rachel Ann Harless. Louis married Mary Tennessee Wisdom.

From the Harless family: Rachel Ann Harless Allison had an Uncle Henry Crowsin of Nevada, Collin Co in 1852. They suffered the Civil War years. I have a 48 page article about the trials and tribulations. Gave the land for Bear Creek Cemetery and Church. Hwy 6 & #78 area 1000 Acres from Millwood to Thompson Cemetery in Copeville.

Charles Dotson Harless, David Daniel Harless, Henry Crowsin Harless all of the Allisons, Hornbuckles, Wisdoms, Pettys from Josephine, Gibbs, Howards, McCloud, It would take a lot of time to name all of the families that the above married into. Lots of relatives from Farmersville, Josephine, Lavon, Copeville, Nevada.
