DEATH CLAIMS ANOTHER PIONEER

[J. W. Bone]

Courier Gazette
January 15, 1913

J. W. Bone, aged 60 years, died a the family home in the Foote community Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, after an illness of two weeks of pneumonia. As he had been very low since first taking his bed with this fever, his death was not altogether unexpected. Mr. Bone was a native of this state, having spent his younger days in East Texas. He and his family for several years living at Hill Town, Denton county. They moved from there to the Viney Grove community about seven miles northeast of McKinney, where they lived for two or three years. From here they moved to Foote, where they have resided for the past ten or twelve years. Deceased was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church. He was a loving husband and father, a kind neighbor and a loyal citizen. He is survived by his wife and five children, three sons and two daughters as follows: Jesse Bone, one of the clerks in Matthews Bros. Store here; Robert Bone of Denton, and George Bone of Foote; Mrs. Lou Barnett of Blue Ridge, and Mrs. Mamie Bowley of Foote. Mr. Bone also leaves two sisters to mourn his demise, Mrs. R. L. Ray of this city and Mrs. Bob Fowler of Denton county.

The interment was made at Hill Town this afternoon. We extend condolence to the bereaved ones in this sad hour of sorrow.
