DEATH ENDS LONG SERVICE AS POSTMASTER James A. Crow of Plano Died At Age of 74 Years. McKinney Daily Courier Gazette October 27, 1920 Postmaster James A. Crow of Plano, 74 years old, died at 3 o’clock Tuesday morning at the family residence after a brief illness. Mr. Crow had served as assistant and postmaster at Plano for the last thirty-five years, serving three terms as postmaster. He leaves a wife and son, J. A. Crow Jr. Funeral arrangements have not been announced pending the arrival of relatives from Athens, Tenn. and his son, who is said to be working at the Shreveport State Fair at Shreveport. He was a member of the Methodist Church. PLANO BUSINESS HOUSES CLOSE FOR CROW FUNERAL McKinney Daily Courier Gazette Friday, October 29, 1920 Plano, Texas, Oct. 29—The funeral services of James Atkins Crow, postmaster here, who died early Tuesday, were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. R. C. Hicks conducted the services. All business houses closed their doors during the services from 3 to 4 p. m. as a mark of respect to the faithful and accommodating postmaster, who served the public so long.
