2. George Jabez HORNBUCKLE, D.V.M : b. 1887 Copeville, Collin Co., TX m. 2-22-1908 Josephine, TX died 7-16-1950 Dallas, TX. Both are buried - Thompson Cemetery, Copeville.  Recieved DVM from the University of Arkansas.  He was a Vet in Whitewright and Dallas. He was the Precent # 2 - Collin Co., Constable for 20 years. Member of the Copeville Baptist Church, Nevada Masonic Lodge, Shriner in Dallas and Knights Templer. I have been given a School Picture of the Copeville School in the 1890s that has he and my mother in grade school.

2. Mary Emma WADE: b 1891 Copeville, Collin Co., TX d. 11-11-1977 Rockwall, Texas Nursing Home but home was in Copeville.

My Mother, Mary Emma Wade. Her parents came from Tupelo, MS, SHELTON, KNOWLES, PUTMAN & WADE (her grandparents) His father died before he moved to Collin County. He did have a niece who married, Clarence West - Copeville and a nephew Clarence Wade m. Johnie Faulkner. They were also from Tupelo, MS. Her mother, Martha Ann Knowles had relatives that married into: Caldwell, Denton, Lanier, Caplinger, Hollowell, Bilyeu, Meligun. Putman family from Tupelo and Ala: Frank, John and Jim lived at Copeville. Wm Martin Putman Jr.injured and POW Battle of Gettysburg Pa in Thompson Cemetery. He and wife Alice Crow had the first Hotel in Copeville (sure is was more of a Boarding house for Peddlers and Drummers of the 1800s) Bettye Putman married John Knowles my Mothers grandparents. She was the daughter of Alice and Wm. Martin Putman Jr. Her dau.Laura m. Tip Denton from Farmersville, Lela m. Lanier, etc.

3rd GENERATION

4. George Taylor HORNBUCKLE b. 4-28-1847 New Hope, Madison Co., AL m. 3-6-1867 Huntsville, AL. Moved to Copeville, Collin Co., 1880

Geo T. had a sister Cassie Craft that was killed in the 1927 Nevada Tornado. Geo T. had another sister: Martisha m. John H. Erwin they died in Greenville.

5. Sarah Catherine ALLISON b. 3-3-1848, Huntsville, Madison Co., AL

Sarah: had 2 brothers and 4 sisters & parents. Rachel (Mother): Had 3 brothers & 6 children

The family of: George Taylor Hornbuckle b. 1847 Ala. to Copeville in 1880 1867 married Sarah Catherine Allison in Hunstville Ala. They had four (4) children born in New Hope aka Viana, AL: Laura, William, Geneva and Rachel. The four children came by train with their mother to Copeville and George T. came by wagon train. He was a Deacon @ the First Baptist Church and all of the girls taught Sunday School.

Edith Doyle taught School @ Copeville, TX When she died in the late 1990s I inherited her School Pictures.

7. Martha Ann KNOWLES: b 28 Sep 1874 Carrona, Pontotoc Co., MS; d 12 Jul 1902 Copeville, Collin Co., TX, buried at McMinn Cemetery (east of Copeville - before Thompson)  Martha Ann and the baby died with Typhoid fever.

George G. Wade belonged to the Methodist Church, Woodman of the World. Farmed on Route # 3 Farmersville. Retired to Copeville and died in 1952 George, wife and the girls are buried at Thompson Cemetery. the two boys; Marvin Rex and John "Henry" Henderson Wade @ Restland

In December 1999 Annie May Smith died in Missouri at the home of her daughter. She lived for 98 years in Farmersville.  If you were ever in Farmersville and went into the Dry Goods Store and later to Dyer's Drug Store - You knew Annie May Smith. She worked until she was passed @ 95 yrs old. She would never disclose her age, because she wanted to be out talking to people. The last thing she told me was, "I just went to pot when I quit work" She was 96 then and lived a couple of years after that. She was a People person. She looked about 65.  Her brother, Burton was a happy face at the Farmersville Post Office. They died less than 2 weeks apart. Both belonged to the First Baptist Church of Farmersville, where he was a Deacon. Burton married Mildred Evans and Annie Mae married Jennings Bryan Smith. Both Farmersville
families.

Rachel Ann Harless Allison had an Uncle: Henry Crowsin to Nevada, Collin Co in 1852  They suffered the Civil War years I have a 48 pa article about the trials and tribulations. Gave the land for Bear Creek Cemetery and Church. Hwy 6 & #78 area 1000 Acres from Millwood to Thompson Cemetery in Copeville.
