Biography: This information is from other sources -- noteably Mary Gaynell Yeager Neale.

Thomas Perrry Yeager was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Empire Lodge 586 AF and AM Nevada TX.  Thomas Perry Yeager was interested in the education of children. He served on the committee to raise money to establish the Empire Center Academy which was completed in the Fall of 1884.  The school was considered outstanding.  Latin, mathematics and all the higher subjects were taught.  When the school was no longer used, Thomas Perry Yeager bought the two-story dormitory for his large family's home.  He and his wife had twelve children (six boys and six girls).

When the Thomas Perry Yeagers married in June 1868, they joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (3 miles south of Nevada, Texas.)  When the church disbanded in 1882, he helped organize the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in October 1882.  He served as church clerk until early 1890.  That year he helped organize the Nevada Baptist Church.
