LOVELL CEMETERY - FARMERSVILLE

CR611

Cemeteries of Collin County, Texas, by Joy Gough

According to GENEALOGIES OF TEXAS FAMILIES: BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES OF PIONEER SETTLERS, edited by James Pylant, Mary Hannah Lovell, who was born November 10, 1820, and died March 3, 1882, is buried in this cemetery. COLLIN COUNTY CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS I does not list any Lovells in the cemetery. According to the same source, the Lovells are related to the Montgomerys, who are listed as buried here. The Lovell family owns the land the cemetery is on and watches over it.

The cemetery is on the old McKinney/Farmersville Road. The stones are not visible from the road. The cemetery is about 70 feet square surrounded by a barbed-wire fence. Most of the stones are standing. The grass is not cut. The cemetery could use some maintenance.
