NEW LIFE

(east of Melissa, northeast of Altoga)

FIELD MAN ON WING

Weekly Democrat Gazette, Thanksgiving November 25

Verona.

Prof. W. L. Bailey looks youthful, but "he's a man for a that." In every sense a selfmade man, he deserves the encouragement the trustees of New Life gave him by contracting with him to teach their school. A Christian gentleman and whose splendid character is too well known to receive comment at our hands. Will be the architect of his own fortune and we bespeak for our young friend the measure of success awaiting those who actuated by principles of right and justice that inevitably follows laudable ambition and honest endeavor. We thank Lud for a tender of long green in exchange for the Democrat-Gazette one year.

New Life.

L. V. Headrick renews for the Democrat-Gazette and orders the Forth Worth Record one year, both papers for only $1.75. With a big cotton crop and a stiff price, he was anxious for the "stuff" to circulate.

Cliff Headrick is not a bachelor because Miss Claudia Kirby pulled him too soon. They were married January 1907, and something has rolled into the cradle twice. For only $1.75 we took from his head the outer lining and one year's balm of the Democrat-Gazette mixed with twelve moons of the Fort Worth Record, is guaranteed to cure or both papers refunded. While driving a nail into his wagon bed last Tuesday morning the hammer slipped from his hand striking him just above the left eye lacerating the flesh and making an ugly wound. He was unconscious for a few minutes.

In the absence of her husband Mrs. R. E. Williams gave a check for the Democrat-Gazette one year. She was Miss Luna Young before her marriage in 1905. Having just gathered a big cotton crop, she was on the lookout for the best county paper published in McKinney and that is what we had to offer and the deal was closed instanter.
