STINSON

(south of Lucas)

ON THE WING

Daily Courier-Gazette, January 22, 1912

Stinson.

T. J. Hall was born and reared in this community and married in 1902 to Miss Susie Gallagher. Owns 175 acres of dark, deep soil and his home is one of comfort, convenience and happiness. Only three children to provide for and that's no job with two black land farms. has been reading the Democrat-Gazette eleven years, and renews his allegiance by the tender of a crisp dollar bill and for three quarters more orders the Dallas News one year, both papers for only $1.75.

J. B. Gray is another enthusiastic reader of the Democrat-Gazette and whom we "victimized" in 1903. Is the head of an interesting family and for only $1.75 renews for his favorite county paper and Dallas News one year.

The past week was cheerless overhead and decidedly disagreeable under foot. The daily showers have kept the roads in bad condition for travelling in a buggy and Buckskin carped his oats.

The Democrat-Gazette is meeting with popular favor and its circulation is growing by leaps and bounds owing to its settled policy of gathering and publishing the county and local news regardless of labor or expense.

STINSON.

W. H. McCreary is a Texan because he couldn't help it, and frowned for the first time on a new world, fifty-seven years ago. When only twenty-seven years of age fortune smiled on Henry and he proposed and was accepted in marriage by Miss Permelia Offutt. Eight boys and one girl tell the story. With 80 acres of well improved land he didn't mind to part company with a rusty dollar for the Democrat-Gazette one year.

Our itinerary last week enabled us to meet many old friends, renew acquaintances and form many new ones. Among the former we must not overlook T. L. Johnson, the popular merchant of Parker, but who, we regret to say, will move to Oklahoma in a few weeks and try his hand at farming.

Mr. Johnson has been in the merchantile business for eighteen years and has been very successful. Such men as he are a credit to any community and while we are sad because of his departure from us, we congratulate the people of Oklahoma for acquiring his citizenship.

To our correspondent at New Life we extend thanks for New Year compliments and to each and all of the staff bespeak a year full of happiness and prosperity.
