WOODDALE On the Wing Weekly Democrat Gazette, May 11, 1913 contd. Coffman L. J. , who is a product of Collin County, renews his subscription to Collin's biggest and best weekly, The Democrat-Gazette. He and Mrs. Stevenson (formerly Miss Cora Nichols) have only two robust children to provide for. W. S. Powell, who is a young married man, but who was anxious to subscribe for The Democrat-Gazette, because its the only newspaper in McKinney having wire service and thus enabled to furnish its patrons original news just from the reel. He and Miss Ethell Cromer were united in the holy bonds of wedlock three years ago. We asked no questions, but lying on the bed was a tiny something covered with frills which, for ought we know, was a China doll some thoughtful neighbor had sent them. G. A. Coffey, who is a son of the late Esquire Jessee Coffey, subscribed for The Best Paper On Earth, because is was for many years the favorite county paper of his deceased father. Mr. Coffey and his two sisters, Misses Mary and Cynthia, reside on the old homestead settled by their honored and worthy sire in 1854, and within a stone's throw of the school house. We are under obligations to Y. H. E. Powell, who is one of this community's big farmers and largest land owners for a good dinner for ourselves and a big feed of oats for Buckskin. C. B. Stanley is an ex-Ellis County citizen, who came to Collin last January, because its the best county in the world. With himself, wife and a small family of children (only twelve) he could easily afforded to subscribe for the Best Paper On earth; and The Weekly Democrat-Gazette has laughed until all the buttons are off its trousers, because up to the present there is an unbroken record of landing every Ellis County man with whom it has come in contact on its big list of readers. Ellis County people are intelligent and have ready cash. ***
