John Bolden of Waltham 1603
In the name of God amen the xix daye of October Anno Domini 1603 I John Bolden of the parish of Waltham being of hole mynde and good remembrance doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in forme as followeth.
ffirst I bequeath my soule to allmightye god my redeemer in whome I trust onely to bee saved and my bodye to bee buryed in the churchyard of Waltham.
Item I give and bequeath unto John Bolden my sonne xxœ to bee payd to him when he shall accomplish the age of xxij yeares and one realltie of twentie shillings a yeare which I have owt of one howse and land of Michaell Lees lyeing att Handfold to him and his heires forever. And my will amd meaning is that Eame my wyfe shall take the yearlie proffytt of this my realltye of xxij yeares paying untill John my sonne shall accomplishe tha age of xxij yeares paying yearlye out of this realltie to my sonne John vijs viijd untill hee accomplishe the age of xxij yeares. Also I give and bequeath unto the sayde John my sonne one table standing in my parlor and one cupboard which I have standing in my mother howse att Whitacre.
Item I give and bequeath unto Symon Bolden my sonne xxxœ to paide to him when hee shall accomplishe tha age of xxij yeares and my will meaning is that yf eyther of these my two sonnes doe happen to depart this world before they accomplishe the age of xxij yeares then the one of them shall bee the other's heire. Item I give and bequeath unto Marye Bolden my daughter xxœ and one cupboard standing in my parlor to bee payde to her when she shall accomplish the age of xxij yeares or att the daye of her marryage. [Mary daughter of John Bolden 1587 Waltham]
Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my daughter xxœ and one brass Cadrone to bee payde to her when she shall accomplish the age of xxij yeares or att the daye of her marryage. [Elizabeth daughter of John Boldinge 1593 Waltham]
Item I give and bequeath unto Sara Bolden my daughter xxœ and one brass pott to bee payde unto her when she shall accomplish the age of xxij yeares or the daye of her marryage. [Sarah daughter of John Boldinge 1596 Waltham - died 1638 Elmsted]
Item I give and bequeath unto Eame Bolden my daughter xxœ and one greate chest standing in my parlor to bee paide unto her when she shall accomplish the age of xxij yeares or at the daye of her marryage and my meaning is yf any any of these my foure daughters, Marye, Elizabeth, Sara and Eame chance to departe this world unmarryed and before they come to the age of xxij yeares Then my will and meaning is that the one of them shallbee the others heire. Item all my moveable goods corne cattell whatsoever is myne I give and bequeath unto Eame my wyfe whom I make whole executrix of this my last will and testament.
Item I appointe and ordayne Lawrence Lane & Thomas Lansfield overseer to this my last will and testament.
