Will of Simon Bolden of Whitstable 1614
In the Name of God Amen I Simon Bolden of the parish of Whitstable in the Countie of Kent, husbandman, being sicke in bodie but .... in minde and perfect of remembrance the Lord be praised doe make and ordaine this my last Will and testament in manner and forme following. viz ffirst I bequeath my soule to allmightie God my maker and my redeemer and my body to be buried in the parish churchyard of Whitstable aforesaid. And as for my worldly goods I will & bequeath on manner and forme following.
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Margaret my wife my cowe and sixe ewes to bee paid unto her within one month after my decease. [Simon Bolden & Margaret Broune 1611 Whitstable]
Item I give unto my said wife all the goods nowe in my possession ... brought unto mee when wee weare married to bee paid unto her within one month after my decease. [Simon Bolden married Cicelie Rowlfe 1569 Waltham - first wife]
Item I give more unto her one lode of faggott wood to bee paid to her as before.
Item I give more to my wife aforesaid XXœ to bee paid to her within half a yeare after my decease in lawfull money of England or moveable goods as my executor and my wife shall agree uppon.
Item. My will is that my executor shall allowe my said wife sufficient .... for her dyet and money after my decease.
Item I give unto Simon, the sonne of Henry my sonne, ten shillings of lawfull money of England to bee paid to him within one quarter of a yeare after my decease. Item I give unto Symon, the sonne of Henry my sonne, aforesaid Xœ of lawfull money of England to bee paid to his father aforesaid to bee prefered to the use of ye child aforesaid.

Item I give unto the poore of ye parish aforesaid vjs viijd of lawfull money of England to bee paid unto xij poore people at ye daie of my buriall.

Item I make and ordaine John Bolden aforesaid and Robert Bolden my sonne executors of this my last will and testament and they to discharge all my debts and legacies and my will is that my said executors shallbee advised by William Graythorne and William ffletcher whome I doe make overseers of this my last will and testament and thereunto ...
