An Order against Thomas Bowlinge of Lympne 1608 Q/S/SB 796

 

 

An Order made by Thomas Honeywood knight and Richard Hardres Esq: two of the King Justices of the peace for this County of Kent The xth day of February AD 1608

ffor as much as Thomas Bowlinge of the parish of Lymme in the sayd Countye housbandman is the reputed ffather of Rebecca Bryce of Stelling Spynster It is therefore ordered by us the sayd two Justices of the peace next adioyninge according to the statute in that case provided that the sayd Thomas Bowlinge shall henceforth dyscharge and dysburden the sayd paryshe of Stelling whence the sayd chylde was borne of and from all manner of charges whatsoever which may or shall hearafter come and by the meanes of the sayd chylde Or that from the byrth of the sayd chylde he pay and countrybute unto the churchwardens and overseers of the sayd paryshe the sume of tenne pence by the weeke untill such tyme as the sayd chylde shalbe able to earne his owne lyvynge whent? chardynge the sayd paryshe ys the sayd chylde shall so longe lyve: And wee have also ordered that the said Rebecca Bryce shall keepe the said chylde at her owne handes haveinge towarde the kepeinge thereof the some of tenne pence aforesayd weekly at the descretion of the churchwardens and Overseers aforesaid And wee have further ordered that the said Thomas Bowlinge shalbe bownde in the sume of Twenty pounds for the performance of this order the same bond to be taken by us or either of us In Wytnes whereof wee have hereunto sett our hande and seales the daye and yeare above wrytten.

Yt is ordered that the said Thomas Bowlinge payinge toward the kepinge of the child xd weekly tyll the inp...support? to be .... at the Custom? of Canterbury shall not be further bound by the order above written ..... the Court ..... shall think further shall order him to further ......... to performe the .... order or .... this order then .............to be finall.
