The Lord Your Husband...Hosea 2:14
God wants to be a Spiritual Husband to every woman and He wants to take care of them as a husband does a wife. Jeremiah 31:31 The Apostle Paul said in, II Corinthians 11:2, "For I am jealous for you with a godly eagerness and a divine jealousy, to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ." (Amplified Bible) In Hosea 2:16, "And it shall be in that day, says the Lord, that you will call Me Ishi [my Husband], and you shall no more call Me Baali [my Baal]."
The word Ishi, in Hebrew, means an individual husband. So God wants to be your individual Husband. God, as the Lord your Husband, wants to reveal Himself to you, to bless you and to take care of you as a husband does a wife! In Hosea, God wanted the Israelites to call Him by a new word for husband. The former word was Baal, as in Isaiah 54:5, "For the Lord your Maker is your Husband..." But God wanted them to know Him as an individual and remove the word Baal, meaning master/owner, because it had been tainted by the idol worshippers calling their idol god, Baal.
I compounded the name Jehovah Ishi, when God revealed Himself to me as the Lord your Husband. God is always faithful to His Word. Every woman can take God at His Word and trust Him to be their Spiritual Husband. Anyone may be healed and be completely whole in every area of their life. Salvation means that and much more, such as deliverance, wholeness, happiness and healing. Confess God as your Spiritual Husband! Who is an individual to you and as Jehovah Ishi, let Him show you how He can take care of you as a husband does a wife!
