This good-looking crew is my family - Mom, Dad, three sisters and myself (in black dress). This is the last time we were altogether for a family picture. Everyone assembled, from various parts of the country, at my home for my son's high school graduation. My little house overflowed with people - I like to call it wall-to-wall people since, of course, everyone had their children and even a couple of grandchildren with them. We slept on anything and everything. While I had so many men around, I took advantage of the situation and had my Dad and his "crew" turn the deck on the back of the house, into a screened-in porch. I have spent many happy hours on that porch - reading, thinking, playing with my grandson, watching the birds and just plain relaxing after a long day at school. The idea has run through my mind on several occasions, to make this porch into a room - but there are too many memories built into it to lose. The next owners will have to take care of that extra room dream - I can't afford to lose anything so dear.
As it turned out, we lost my Dad to cancer the next year, and so this particular picture holds a place near and dear in my heart.
