county, California. Arthur died from Undifferentiated Bronchogenic Carcinoma
(a cancerous tumor, formed on the lung at the bronchial entry) discovered approximately
September, 1979. Other illnesses, not related to death, were Coronary Heart
Disease and Anemia. He was buried on Dec 27 1979 in San Marcos, San Diego county,
California. Buried with his second wife, Gail Bilyeau, at the San Marcos Municipal
Cemetary. He was described as 6' 1" tall, 168 lbs., black hair, blue eyes,
ruddy complexion. He was also known as "Art". After Edythe Lewis's
marriage to Stuart Langford, Arthur took his step-father's last name, but there
was no legal adoption. When Arthur applied for his Alien Visa, on Jan 28, 1941,
Langford became his legal name.
He played in the Oceanside Municipal Band, directed by Stuart Langford. This
is where he met Winifred Pitman, his first wife.
His hobbies were model railroading and astronomy.
