24. C. F. (Carl Fredric?)
Hindorff was born in 1800 in Stockholm, Sweden. He resided with his
mother until 16 years old from 1800 to 1816. He retired in 1854 in Sweden.
"After 30 years as a soldier". He was married to Christin Widmark
in 1824 in Hacksta in Vingåker (Orebro Län), Sweden.
The following correspondence is included as possibly relevant to the ancestors
of Pher (Peter) Eric Hindorff. At present, no definite connection has been established.
The date of birth for Pher Eric given here is the same as that provided in the
Family History Albums of Winifred (Pitman) Lawrence, but the source for the latter
is not given and may have been Margaret (Hindorff) Ray, who supplied the copy
for the following. However, it must be noted that the information correlates
reasonably with other life events, from other documents, for P.E. Hindorff.
This information is the basis for TENTATIVELY including PARENTS and SIBLINGS
of Peter Eric Hindorff.

" Thank you for your letter. The new informations were interesting.
Christine Hindorff came from Berga, Vingåker about 12 swedish miles west
from Stockholm.
" And I have something very special just about Vingåker. A very old
document I've got from my father's sister (she is 86 now). She is living in
Söderhamn about 30 swedish miles north of Stockholm. This old paper was
very ragged but she tried to put it together and made a copy for me and I've
made one for you. It's very difficult to read but I think I will try to give
you the main contents. Perhaps I can do it better later on but just now I'm
very busy in school. I know that you are waiting of informations so I must try
to give you this and the paper I've got from our town archiv.

"Some notes from the document:
" Just for my children will know from where the name Hindorff is coming.
Written by C F Hindorff born in Stockholm 1800. His father J F Hindorff borned
in Germany came to Stockholm. He was married with Catharina Kumlin from Kumla
Socken in Orebro Län. He moved to Norrjet where he died. C F lived with
his mother until 16 years old and then he had lived and worked as a soldier in
some different places in Orebro Län. 1824 he married Christin Widmark from
Bysta, daughter to Pehr Jonsson and Brita Persdotter in Hacksta in Vingåker
(Orebro Län). She died when he was doing his duty as a soldier some miles
away. Christin (Widmark) Hindorff was born in Hacksta 2 november 1802. After
that you can see a list of their children.-- And at last after 30 years as a
soldier he retired 1854.

Eva Charlotta and August Micall were apparently twins, to which fact the notes
seem to apply.
The reference, above, by Gunvar, to P.E. being from Germany and possible brother
of J.F. is apparently correct, but for the Swedish children listed here, not
for the J.F., born in Germany before 1800. The birth date given for Pher Eric,
above, is exactly the same as the date of birth of Peter Eric Hindorff, calculated
from the date of his death and his age at death.
