I owned a 95 SL1. Bought new. Totaled at 73,000 mi. Problems: Had dash replace due to cracking. A bearing on one of the drive belts replaced 3 times. Seal on tranny replaced. Plastic inserts on door replaced due to cracking twice. body panel door replaced due to cracking. Began using oil. Various other problems. All taken care of by dealer, save for a egr valve which I paid for. This car was my 1st new car so I had no benchmark to comapre to. I now have a 2000 LS 100 w/ several power options. I purchased the 5 year service plan/extended warranty. Less than 200 mi on as of this date(10/29/00). I will keep this site updated as the miles wear on.

Hello, Our names our Lauren & Keith (which has been a Saturn Tech. for 8 years). We currently have two Saturns a used 91 SL2 and a new 98 Special Edition SC2 Red Hot and love them both. No problems at all with either or any of the others we have had. I
sometimes fall upon these Saturn bashing sites and it is pretty funny how some of these people forget to mention that they don't keep up with maintanence, some of them are obvious problems due to not changing oil, etc. I am not saying all of them are, bu
there are a great deal, some of the stories we read are also impossible to have happen, I just think they have nothing better to do. On behalf of Keith and all the other service people I would also like to say that all customers don't treat these people
with respect 100% of the time and think they can stand face to face with a service manager that knows maintanence hasn't been done on a car and say it has, it is rediculous. Nothing is perfect and yes people do blow things out of proportion, but you have
to understand that these are cars and they can't preform service by themselves! We tried to help one guy that we came across that had problems with a Saturn and he dumped all over us (how nice of him!), he also didn't state the true facts on his web pag
, the email and web page stories were totally different. I know some poeple won't like what I have wrote but tough luck, that is how I feel and I am just letting everyone know that these are good cars and you can't beleive everything you read! Thanks fo
your time and enjoy your Saturns! :-) If anyone has a question about thier car please feel free to ask. Have a great day!

Beware the Saturn Maintenance Package Program. I got talked into buying a program for all my maintenance (such as oil changes and tire rotation and all) from the Sterling Saturn of Va. The thing they did not tell me is that it would be impossible to eve
get in for maintenance. I have been told I could not get in for weeks at a time. Saturn SL1 had a seat belt recall and I have not been able to get in and have the necessary repairs made! They don't work on Saturdays for that kind of trivial work. I t
ied for three months to get in and finally cancelled the program. I was pro-rated for the time I had the package and was unable to use it! I was told that I had to cancel within the first 60 days. I asked how many people need routine maintenace on thei
car in the first 60 days. "That's just our policy." I was told. This is my second Saturn. I bought the exact same model for a higher price and fewer features (like automatic seatbelts). Guess the "Different Kind of Car Company" is becoming like all
he others. Never again! Don't be fooled by the Saturn hype caring about their owners. They care until you drive off the lot.

Just purchased a 96 Saturn SL2 4 months ago with
39800 miles. It has a 4 speed auto trans. Just
installed Kenwood Excelon CD player. In process
of installing K&N filter charger.
I would like to know what other hi performance products are available for my car.
I also am having a problem with the way my Saturn
drives. There is a lot of vibrations in the floor
and it comes through the pedals to. Could it be
related to the tires? I still have the OEM Firestone Affinity tires on it. I am also wondering about the performance suspension.
The car rides rough on uneven roads.
Anyone with similar problems/solution; please
E mail me.

MY SATURN NIGHTMARE.
I have had various intermittent electrical problems with my 1997 Saturn SC2 (purchased new in '97). At less than 27,000 miles, Indicator lights began to malfunction, and more seriously, engine and all electrical systems began to shut off while driving at
high speeds. This has subjected me to numerous potential accidents.
Customer service has been outrageous. I have taken the car in five times to the dealer without resolution. Each time that Saturn tells me to take back the car, they have compromised my safety and the safety of others on the road. Saturn refuses to acce
t responsibility and refuses to be reasonable. My attempts to contact the legal department and the President of the Company (Cynthia Trudell) have been railroaded by the Regional Director of Customer Service.
Because of my sheer exasperation with Saturn and the fact that they advertize themselves to be so concerned with customer service and safety, I have started my own website, www.saturnexposed.com. Any promotion of my site (to be fair and give another poin
of view) would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you, and sincerely,
James Wright

My wife and I just purchased a 1994 Saturn SL2. It has 36000 original miles on it, and I love it. Its our 2nd car (my car) and we have been impressed with both the car and the Saturn Dealership we took it to after purchase to get everything checked/fixed
(Saturn of Orange Park, Jacksonville, Fl.) I will probably be asking questions of other Saturn owners as time passes.. Thanks, J. Pomeroy

I saw your note on T.H.E. letter page. I am brand-new to GEOCITIES. But I just happen to own a Saturn, so I had to drop a line and share how I became a Saturn-owner. I WON my Saturn on January 12, 1998. I got pretty lucky, considering it is a SC2 (4-d
sedan) loaded, with alloy-wheels, alarm, cd-player, tinted windows, power everything. Anyway, It is a pretty amazing feeling, to have won a car. But I am proud to say that I love my Saturn, and I love all the features.
