Surnames:
FERGUSON and GRIFFIN
I am searching for any Ferguson connections which originated in the Halifax -
Goldboro - or elsewhere in Nova Scotia. My grandfather was Robert Ferguson
(married Laura Giffin in late 1800's) who was a blacksmith as was his father
(Robert?). They had six boys (Walter, Harold, Frank [Byron], George, Roy and
Scott) and a daughter Lula(sp?). All children emigrated to U.S. in the 1900's
settling in New York City and New Jersey.
My great grandfather supposedly emigrated from Scotland. Any connections would
be appreciated.
Thanks

Surnames:
FERGUSON and SLOAN
My grandfather's sister was LIZZIE SLOAN. She married ANDREW FERGUS(S)ON, in
1884, probably in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. They emigrated to USA and settled
in Buffalo, NY. Andrew may have worked at the Pullman works. Lizzie died 9 Mar
1889 and is buried at Forest Lawn
Cemetery, Buffalo. They are believed to have had 2 daughters, one possibly
called NETTIE. Can anyone help? For anyone researching in Dumfries,
