Ridgebacks are perfectly suited to life in the Deep South, but don't make the mistake of thinking all dogs are of the same mind. Each breed of dog has developed in both shape, size and temperament because they were bred to fulfill a specific need. Ridgebacks grow to be large dogs, very athletic and clueless as to vehicles. They see something, they chase it....a good sturdy, minimum 5 ft. fence is needed with plenty of exercise area.
