This station broadcast for over three years from various mobile locations (to avoid detection) around the East London/ Essex area. The signal was always strong and the station built up a large following due to the emphasis on the community programming. The station even engaged the sevices of blind persons who presented programmes on the station. Heard most Sundays between 9am and 5pm, (a favourite for pirates) the station was a strong campaigner for a licence for its self appointed service area.
Station manager Roger Davis was to be campaigning for over twenty years before a licence became available but this was denied to him and East London Radio in late 1997.
A part time radio enthusiast, Roger recently provided a working transmitter for the offshore (and legal) Radio London 30th anniversary (his transmitter worked when a commercial model refused to work at sea!) Recently he re-targeted his sights at obtaining a radio licence for the mid Essex area but this was also denied.
