One of the most illusive of my ancestors is Augustine Fraser.

These are some of the very few facts we have about him:
Augustine may possibly be his middle name. On January 22, 1877, in Millvale, PEI, Canada, he married Sarah Cecily Praught, born in PEI on November 13, 1848. Witnesses for marriage were: Daniel Praught (probably the brother of Sarah) and Catherine Fraser (possibly the daughter of Donald fraser and Agnes McGinnis). Sarah's mother was a baptismal sponsor for Catherine. Family history has it that Augustine was killed in a fight in PEI when his son Ambrose William Fraser was still very young. They were associated with and married in St. Augustine's Church, Rustico, PEI.

Sarah is listed as a widow at home of her widowed mother in the 1881 PEI census. After immigrating to US via Sault St. marie with her mother and her 18 year old son, Ambrose, in 1897...she settled in St. Michaels, MN. Most likely with her brother Angus W. Praught and his wife Mary.
