Artists

You don't seem to understand,
Who is who, or what God planned!
Artistic types, you soon will find,
Are using a "creative mind"!
They write the words, for songs you sing,
And make your life a happy thing!
They carve with wood, or use some paint,
Sometimes serious! Sometimes "quaint"!
They look at life, in many ways,
Scan their surroundings, for days and days!
Their eyes are piercing....their minds aware!
With constant effort, they repair!
The scenes and colours change at random!
Others cannot even fathom!!
At times, they paint or write....about people!
Then, switch to sketching a church steeple!
Ideas come at ridiculous hours,
About nature, politics, love and flowers!
Must be used "Now" or they disappear!
Never to return, I fear!!
You think my "mood" swings?No, not true!
I'm just "artistic".....not like you!
A "picture"of words can make you try,
To smile...to wonder.....to just ask "Why?"
I simply see, through my own eyes,
Describe what's seen.....not always "wise"!
Some things I see are meant for me,
But, other things.....I can't agree!!
What's right for one, is not right for all,
I'll just observe, while you stand "tall"!
And when I reach out, for my pen,
Do not fear.....just count to ten,
I'm just considering "challenge" or "beauty",
Sometimes frivolous.....sometimes duty!
The things I say aren't about you,
If you're my friend, this is true!
Good thoughts of you, I feel so well,
And "special" words, I'll try to tell!!
