BIRD VISITOR
A little, grey bird landed, on the rough edge,
Of a huge, speckled rock, in my flower bed!
As if to say, "Please! Take a picture of me!"
"Here beneath the old, wild, cherry tree!"
He looked so innocent and sat so very still,
Contemplating all, that exists here, on my hill!
Enjoying the crimson tulips, that grow below,
Just sitting and chirping...not wanting to go!
A happy song, for such a lovely sun-washed day,
A day, when Nature decides to have so much to say!
I grabbed my camera, but before I could take aim,
He decided, that he didn't like this "picture game"!
The rock looked so plain, since he would not stay!
How I wished, that I knew what he tried to say!
In a flash, he was gone.....high over my home,
I was left standing there, disappointed and alone!
No pretty picture to look at, except in my mind,
And there it will remain....for a very long time!
