The Eagle
Circling! Diving! Watching me!
High above the tall pine tree!
Whistling, as if to say...
"How are you, on this fine day?"
I whistle, too....and he circles again!
I know he's heard me call his name!
Ever closer, above my head, now....
I watch him and I wonder how,
A bird must feel, with wings so new,
High above, with such a clear view?
Soaring! Gliding! with small sparrows in tow!
Fearless and free, as if to know,
He is supreme, with such grace and speed,
Able to find, all the food he will need,
Magnificent creature...none can compare,
I can't glide like you!
IT JUST ISN'T FAIR!

I dedicate this poem, to my friend, Al, who gave me this
wonderful eagle, for my Homepage. Such a delightful surprise!
I will always remember, this act of kindness.
