FORECLOSURE!

Just one more dismal tale, about Canadian foreclosure,
Needing rectification and loads of exposure!
Sad stories...high interest...low prices....so revealing!
Money lenders, like vultures, continually stealing!
A family farm, for many generations,
No hope, for their son's great contemplations!
Everything must GO to Auction, now,
House...barn...tools...equipment...every last cow!
No funds, to feed the remaining stock today!!
He sold something, in order to purchase some hay!
He was arrested for this and send off to jail,
Seventy year old farmer....ragged overalls and shirt tail!
Classified as a "criminal" for not allowing animals to die,
What else could he do? He just had to try!!
The Auctioneer came and the neighbours did, too,
All took time off, as if there was no work to do!
The farmer's wife and children watched....tears in their eyes,
No need for this....for here comes a SURPRISE!!
Although the Auctioneer hollered and hollered,
No bids came.....except for one dollar!
The Auctioneer stood there, trying so hard,
But, everyone present, was silent, in that yard!
It shows, what good neighbours can do together,
To create "fair play" in a friend's Stormy Weather!

I really enjoyed, hearing about this story. It was on the News one day.
These neighbours did not take advantage of someone, who was going through
difficult times. Instead, they put themselves, in this family's situation
and showed empathy. They did not grab equipment, cattle and someone's home,
to profit from another's misery. A lesson for all of the modern-day ME
FIRST types.
