THE HOCKEY HALL OF SHAME

Farewell, Mr. Eagleson, from the Hockey Hall of Fame!
They no longer wish, to honour your famous name!
Power! Affluence! Influence....were your eventual downfall!
There you sit, in a prison.......another lesson to all!
No longer, can you depend, on friends in influential places!
They're just too busy, with their own, personal disgraces!
These fair-weather friends, won't care about how you feel,
They'll all be occupied...making another, new, crooked deal!
Hockey cannot be classified, as a decent, clean sport,
For these days, in many ways....it falls rather short!
Violence! Pride! Greed!.....make life so unfair,
For those, who attempt, to be honest.......and share!
So, roll out the red carpet!  Paint the jail cell!
Here's a prominent criminal, who must be treated well!
Regrets! Retribution!........These are now in order!
So, for the next hundred years...use a tape recorder,
Get to know other criminals and you'll learn even more,
About sin and corruption...........how to keep score!
Write!!......... all about the things, that you've done,
Sell your books for millions....surprise everyone!!
Do not worry, for a second, about your selfish greed!
This is not important, as long as YOU succeed!
When you get out of jail, in a very short while,
You can find a warm, island...and live in high style!
It is going to be even warmer, where you'll one day go,
After you exit, from this "Elite Power Show"!!
A large dose, of humility and several apologies,
Might help to cure, this selfish, social disease!!

I realize, that there are still lots of good, honest people in hockey and I
am only referring to one, dishonest individual, who shamed all of those,
who deserve our respect. When a prominent individual lowers his good
intentions, it is an embarrassment to all citizens, of that country. It is
good, that this person was forced to pay for his crimes, against the very
hockey players he pretended to represent. Another case of power and money
corrupting.
