AN OLD WOMAN

There was an old woman, one hundred and three,
She was bent over and could hardly see!
Her hearing was gone and she was so thin!
Her bones showed through her tissue-paper skin!
She observed "life", from her window, each day,
Sitting in her chair, she would always pray!
Her body was weak....but, her mind was alert!
She thought about others, who were often hurt!
The people, in her prayers, didn't know about her,
That she cared about them...seemed not to occur!
But, little by little, the "Good News" came,
She smiled, when she heard each familiar name!
No one on Earth, knew about her special ways,
But, GOD always hears, whenever she prays!
It didn't come, as a great surprise!
You could really tell, by looking into her eyes,
That GOD and this woman were "in tune", you see,
And HE kept her alive, so she could be,
A "ray of hope".....a silent prayer,
Just to help all those, who did not care!
They never knew, about all that she did,
They thought their efforts allowed them to live!
She'll never hear "Thanks", or any other praise,
But, she'll be rewarded, one of these days!!
She's ready to meet, "The One Who Knows All",
And her Faith in HIM, makes her ten feet tall!
