PASSING CANADA'S TORCH
Voices echo, all across our land!
Voices, from the 30's, that now demand,
To be heard, so that we can discover,
What happened then, to a sister or brother!
Such a hard act to follow, I do declare!
Great disappointments....nothing was fair!
But, in spite of dismal lives and hopelessness,
Pride, courage and humour brought some success!
They took what they had and made a real life,
Too tired, to complain, or cause any strife!
Frugality gave existence, in a humble way,
They could appraise their efforts and truly say,
"I must be grateful, for each simple thing."
"Next year will be better! We'll plant, in the Spring!"
Always Faith, Hope and much Charity!
For them, it was the only way they could be!
Their Faith gave us a better way!
Their Hope encourages us every day!
Their Charity taught us, how to love and heal!
Their perseverence makes all of us feel,
Proud to carry the torch and know,
That we can pass it on, too....before we go!

If we take the time, to study about the problems, during the Great
Depression of the 30's, we will learn much, about those who struggled
to
leave a legacy for all Canadians. When I observe their hardships, I
realize, that I am fortunate to be living in the 90's and hang my head
in
shame, for complaining about trivial matters. I believe, that Canada
is one
of the best places in the world....and would not trade it for any other.
