POLYNESIAN PLANT
The Tiare Apetchi is a one-sided flower,
Reaches up, with white fingers, like a human hand!
On the summit, of Mount Temehani, it blooms,
Beautiful enough, to grace royal, stately rooms!
Each morning new buds open, just before sunrise,
With a very loud "pop"and it will surprise!!
The lovely Isle of Raiatea is still considered to be,
Sacred, to the natives, as well as the flower, you see!
They tell of a legend, about an Island Princess,
Who long ago died, in her lover's arms....oh, yes!
Her promise to him, while in such distress,
Was to give him her hand, each morn to caress!
If you transplant this flower, it will soon die!
You won't find it elsewhere, even if you try!
Unique...beautiful....nature's pure symbol, of love,
As if protected by GOD's angels, from up above!
South of the Equator, the trade winds still blow,
And if you wish to see the Tiare Apetahi,
There you must go!
