Raccoons

It's eight o'clock....I must be quick...
Raccoons will be waiting there,
Near my door, in the light of the moon...
They'll look in my window and stare!
Here's mother and five of her tiny new brood,
Just sitting and waiting.....they never are rude!
There aren't just a few, who come to my door,
Others have come and I give more and more!
It's my way of sharing my land and my space,
These animals owned it, when I built my place!
God's special creatures need a chance to be,
Alive....happy and healthy....just like you and me!
Their enemies are many and life is so hard,
I help them survive, when they visit my yard!
Some come in sixes, fives or just three.............
And sometimes, there's just ONE, all alone like me!!
One had been injured, with deep wounds and"three"feet,
My eyes filled with tears and my heart skipped a beat!!
I wanted to reach out....to free him from pain!!!!
It would only scare him and DEATH was his name!
They say it's GOD'S plan, but I have no belief,
That GOD makes such misery and causes me......
