Suspension of a Senator

Senator Thompson has been forced to resign,
Due to Canadian criticism, for such a long time!
Fourteen years, in the senate, but he rarely does show!
For he is in sunny La Paz, with many places to go!
Chronic absenteeism and Upper Chamber suspension!
No more $75,000....now, a $48,000 a year pension!
He didn't come back, to do his job, as he should,
Admits, that senators don't do much, that is good!
Why do we frequently allow our corrupt Politicians,
To give all of their friends, these parasitic positions?
Now that he's been investigated by the Press,
He resigns, due to his own personal stress!
He has no regrets........but, where has he been?
Up on Cloud Nine, ignoring this ridiculous scheme!
I guess, that doing the dirty deed, seems to be fine!
It's getting publicity, that upsets them, every time!
Senator Thompson isn't alone, in this ugly, little game,
There is a long, ugly list, with each crooked name!
But, Senator Thompson has the audacity, to give us advise,
I hope, that all Canadians will write his words, on the ice!
Canadian taxpayers continue to find his actions repugnant!
This greedy, political outcast collects and dares to be indignant,
He'd better remain in Mexico! The whole senate should go there!
But, they must pay for their own lazy leisure, for it just isn't fair!
We don't need a senate, to cause more financial disgraces,
Shame on  Politicians,with their false, crooked faces!

His last words....

"I believe, that when a body of authority, such as the Senate, gets too
scared of public clamor, you have a clarity about your own purpose and
don't bend with the wind, all the time. Perhaps they will now take a hard
look at themselves and have a greater sense, of their own strengths, with a
wider definition, than just preoccupation, of being like a schoolroom for
attendance, all of the time."
 

(Even after reprimand and disgrace, he continues to be arrogant. I've got
news for him.....He needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror. As a
classroom teacher, for thirty years, I did not collect my salary, without
doing my job, or by staying home, or going on a perpetual holiday. How long
would any of us have a job, if we behaved in this disgusting fashion?
Senator Thompson is a very dishonest person....not a role model, for
Canadian children, or even for his own family. A five year old child knows,
that you do not get paid honest dollars, without doing an honest day's
work!)
