WARS!!WARS!!WARS!!

I've never fought in a real war, it's true,

But, I always suffer, for those who do!

People aren't interested in "win" or "defeat"!!

Just home, family, friends and something to eat!

Conversation, laughter...a chance to learn and grow!

Do we need wars to improve us?... No!... No!

We will never feel happy, safe and free!

If greed, corruption and power continue to be!

What a lovely day, when we all know,

They'll declare WAR....and NO ONE WILL GO!

But, you can find wars almost anywhere,

In families, where folks are supposed to care!

In the children's schoolyard and in the town park!

Warlike people, who often prowl in the dark!

Wars between companies, who want it all,

Planning and scheming, to make others fall!

Wars with neighbours, who can't be kind,

These are just some, that you will find!

Family feuds are wars, that can last for years,

Causing emotional pain and many tears!

Wars in the sandbox and on the highways!

Enough to ruin life, in a million ways!

How wonderful, if we could truly show,

That we all hate war and I'd love to know,

If they declare "WAR", will we just say, "NO"?

My ideas will not coincide with world events, for we can never state, that
"we won't go", if our lives and freedoms are in jeopardy. Naturally, we
will not stand by, like frozen statues, while others commit their
atrocities. Being strong and prepared is necessary and these help to
alleviate the threats, that might be encouraged, if we were considered to
be vulnerable, for there will always be those, who do not respect our
rights. A bully, who enjoys victimization of others, is something we cannot
tolerate. It seems they can dish out violence, but are perfect examples of
cowardice, when the slightest thing happens to them.

Perhaps we will eventually learn to live in PEACE, or at least fight all
wars on paper, like War Games, or Monopoly, that people sometimes play and
the smartest player wins....the game....the country...or the vote. Now, it
is a popularity contest and after the vote, we wonder what happened to the
man or woman, who seemed so perfect for the job. His or her interests
change, like the tide, and Me First becomes the order of the day.
