World Events

I gather scraps of information from everywhere,
About people places and fun at the fair!
Dogs, cats, crocodiles and ships,
People with strollers...lion tamers, with whips!
Births, deaths, careers...romance and marriages,
Ladies walking around town, with new, baby carriages,
Quotations and clippings, about a man on the moon,
Also, a farmer, who whistles a tune!
"Bathtub races" down a mighty river!
Getting dunked, in icy water, makes everyone shiver!
Castles in Spain and a movie star,
Beachcomber beauties and an electric guitar!
Murder and violence can bring very sad news,
About human ignorance and the need to abuse!
Rockets and spacemen, flowers and birds!
All in my file....waiting for my words!
There are so many....as  world events come round,
Faster than I could ever write them all down!
Trucks losing wheels, on our highways today!
Cause for complaints.....this isn't the way.....
To care about SAFETY for everyone,
And next comes skin cancer, due to the hot sun!
Cloning sheep, in Scotland, causes a fuss,
Why should we want dozens and dozens of us?
Mother's Day! Father's Day! Weddings and guests!
So many events.....and impossible requests!
Travel, Education, Museums and Galleries,
Pensions and problems, about employment and salaries!
Where.....oh, where.....will all of it end?
For me....it begins.....at the end of my pen!!
