Of the Schlabach children only two survive -- Lillie Haertig of Woodsboro and Norma Natho of Orange Grove, Texas.  Paul is buried in Tivoli where he lived much of his life.  Eddie was buried in St. Bernard Cemetery in Woodsboro and Ernest, Perry, and Erna in La Rosa Cemetery.  Lillie Haertig says, "When I look back at what this country was when we came here and what it is now, I realize it certainly has come a long way."

 

The Schlabach children all married and had families of their own.  Ernest and his wife had two children, Herbert and Viola.  Their present addresses are unknown.  Paul and his wife, Augusta, had one boy and three girls.  They are Paul Schlabach, Jr. of Refugio, Texas; Mrs. Anton Marbach of Victoria, Texas; Mrs. Willis Reynolds of San Antonio, Texas; and Mrs. Bill McLintock of Convent, Louisiana.

 

Erna and her husband, Frank Meuret, had four girls.  They are Mrs. Ora Voges  of Bonnie View, Texas; Mrs. Otto Fuhrken of Runge, Texas; Mrs. Norman Walter of Bonnie View, Texas; and Mrs. E. L.. Staples of Bonnie View, Texas.  Norma and her husband, Richard Natho, had three children -- Elliot Natho of Houston, Texas; Melvin Natho of Austin, Texas; and Mrs. Herbert Schrade of Orange Grove, Texas.

 

Lillie and her husband, Willie Haertig, had three boys and one girl.  They are Leroy Haertig of Woodsboro, Texas; Bobby Haertig of Seattle, Washington; Milton Haertig of Alamo, California; and Mrs. Art Atkinson of Tulsu, Oklahoma.  Eddie and his wife, Ida, had three children -- Harlien Schlabach of Riverside, California; Monroe Schlabach of Kerrville, Texas; and Mrs. Walter Stevens of Victoria, Texa.

 

Perry and his wife, Edna, had two boys and a girl.  They are Lynwood Schlabach of Refugio, Texas; John Schlabach of Woodsboro, Texas; and Mrs. Daryle Wilson of Woodsboro, Texas.  In addition to the above descendants of William and Augusta Schlabach, there are many, many third and fourth generation members of this fine family.
