Diapers - don't pack a lot, you can buy them there. Take about
20-30 to
get started.(change
baby maybe 4 times per day)
Baby Wipes - One box was enough.
Formula - pack one container. You can buy formula when you get
there
also. And change
to US formula when you get home.

bottles with.
Just fill with the boiled water the hotel gives

Baby soap/lotion/shampoo
Anbesol- for teething pain, again, depends on age of child
Texas Medical Kit -$75...I did not need anything in my medical kit,
but
did give most things away to other families
who did need them. I
would suggest taking only Children's tylenol,
and Dimetapp for
stuffy noses, etc. Also, a general antibiotic
in case of ear
infections, a lot of the children get ear
infections. No incidences
of scabies, lice or other skin conditions
were noted. We did not
need the tongue depressors, the medical clinic
had fresh ones.
Might take something for diahhrea or constipation.
Also did not
need the syringes.(Someone in your group will
probably take
the medical kit, just share with them.)
Rubbermaid containers for dry formula, and rice cereal
Ziplock bags - put soiled clothes and diapers in, etc.
Pepto Bismol caplets - I took one every morning, I did not get queasy
or
sick on anything I ate.
Your prescription medicine - don't forget.
Flashlight - very small one
Ruberbands
Pocket knife
Video Camera/tapes/charger/batteries - don't forget this. You
won't
want to miss a thing! I took six tapes, only used two,
you may use
more, I needed more hands!
Camera/Flash/Replacement battery - I took 20 rolls, used about 8.
Again
I could have taken more pictures, if my hands
were free!
Hairdryer- The hotels had them in their bathrooms, so don't bother.
Undergarmet holders for Money. I took a money belt and a neck
one for
my passports, I dumped both after getting daughter
and just used my
fanny pack.
Money - remember the orphange donation. I took 3,000 more, (take
half
cash, half travelers checks),and came home with
$1,800. I could
have spent more, bought more, had more to bring home, but again,
I
needed more hands!!(Take $1.00 bills for tipping)
Credit Cards- exchange money with CC or travelers checks, you get a
better exchange rate!
Copy of Dossier documents
Updated documents as needed
3 years tax returns
I-171H

US on
laundry for my daughter and me.
2 pairs shoes

Shampoo
Gifts for the officials - for about a dozen different people
Wrapping paper or gift bags for gifts(red is good, not white, it is
for
mourning)
Kleenex - very important! Use when go to toilet, most do not have
toilet paper, so carry with at all times!
Anti-bacterial hand wipes or hand gel - very important!
Cardboard - to keep that all important orphanage donation nice and crisp
and flat.
Picture book- take a small photo album of your house, rooms, other
family members with you on the trip.
This came in handy many times
dealing with the adoption officials.
Shows them where the babies
will be living, etc.
Food - for yourself, snacks, what ever you like that will travel. I
used
most of my food for my daughter and gave some
away to other parents
who children were eating solid food; oatmeal,
nutrigrain bars,
fruit roll ups, peanut butter, tuna fish and
crackers.
Phone, fax and e-mail addresses to call home.
All important fact. Take one carry on, check the rest. In
your carry
on pack a change of clothes, your luggage may not arrive with you,
so
you may go one night without it, so be prepared!
