Mrs. and Mrs Marx were a fixture in the Class of 1972. They basically lived at the school and did whatever work needed to be done to keep the school running. Mr. Marx had to keep the boiler running to heat the school, wax the floors, mop the floors, cut the grass, toss the wastebaskets into the incinerator, plow the parking lot, load the trucks for the newspaper drive, cleanup after sick students, setup chairs for meetings, etc.
In 1973 the Marx's retired. A ceremony was held with the school children singing songs in a choir and gifts were given to the couple. Cake and punch were served.
Mr. Marx was ahead of his time regarding staying in shape in middle age!
