November 29, 1997
The party was in the basement of Bluemond Bowl. The room was decked out in blue and yellow balloons. A table was set up with name tags that had the graduating picture and the graduating name on them. There were name tags for the teachers as well. Long tables were set up with seating for eight at each table. A bar was set up in the corner with a tap and a bartender. The disc jockey Kart-Tunes set up next to the bar with lights and smoke generators. The food was set up along the wall in about a dozen servers. In the back was a coat room. The lighting was subdued. The first hour was spent socializing. The food was set up and the disc jockey checked out his equipment.
Around six o'clock Greg Failey took a microphone and welcomed everyone to the reunion. He introduced the major contributors:
Lisa Sanford - Catered the food from the restaurant she manages and received the replies.Margaret Cicerello Gutekunst, John Corriveau, and Greg were active in finding alumni and sending invitations.
Greg then announced awards for the longest and shortest distance traveled to the reunion.
Jeff Lohneis - living in Palm Springs California was the longest distance traveled.Michael Dhuey - living in Cupertino California was the second longest distance traveled.
Anthony Handzlik - living a stones throw from Christ King was the shortest.
Greg had a moment of silence for the two departed members of our class Janine Lukach and Jim Rauterberg both dying in car crashes.
Greg mentioned Christ King Parish will be having a 50th anniversary in two years. This should be a reunion for all the classes.
The rest of the night was spent socializing, drinking and dancing. The disc jockey played some classic high school dance tunes including:
Smoke on the Water (with the smoke)
YMCA (with costumes)
American Pie (top song of 1972)
