During Dave's senior year in high school (1979-80), he was selected to be in the 13th annual McDonald's All-American High School Band. McDonald's picked 2 students from each state (and from DC), and we marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1979, and in the Rose Bowl Parade on January 1, 1980. Dave played trombone, and what a thrill those activities were! If you were in that band, please shoot us an email!

Pianos -- if you're considering purchasing a piano, make sure! (and do not fail!) to buy or borrow a copy of The Piano Book by Larry Fine. You can get it from his web site, or from Amazon.com, or from any book store. There is also an annual supplement that give helpful pricing, and his web site even has a pricing service and a consultation service. That book IS The Piano Bible, without question. We ended up purchasing an Astin-Weight UG500 50 inch "upright grand", a fine instrument, perhaps without equal for an upright piano.
