God predicted that the time would come
when mankind would begin to ridicule the
things that are good, and begin labeling
them as "Evil" - and they would praise and
elevate the most evil and perverse acts
of man, and call them "Good." He warned
that people would reject the Truth, and turn
instead toward men calling themselves teachers
and prophets and preachers, who would tell us
"things that would tickle (our) ears."
All over the world today, mankind has already
rejected accountability for immoral behavior:
we now embrace the concept of "victimhood."
Now, when we come face to face with the
consequences of our own choices and actions,
we demand that society provide us with free
programs, finances, medicine, psychological,
or educational assistance - because all our
behavior has been redefined as normal, "under
the circumstances" of one's particular lifestyle.
Pop-psychologists and televsion philosophers
reap millions of dollars with their "I'm okay -
You're okay" acceptance of the most perverse
and outrageous confessions of their guests -
for the sake of ratings and dollars. None of
these new "idols" provide real relief or lasting
help for those who bare their hearts and souls:
and we rarely ever hear of them again. Why?
Because they leave, starstruck - and they have
been told things that make them feel good for a
little while: Their "ears have been tickled!"
But God reminds us over and over that we are
responsible for our actions, and we have our
whole lives to learn, react, and understand the
Way that He has already prepared for us: the
Way to overcome our natural tendencies toward
irresponsible and - often - self-destructive
tendencies - the tendencies which have brought
down every civilization before our time!
He has shown us the path to Eternal Freedom,
to a path of power over self-destruction! All
we need to do is admit that we just don't have
the will to change by ourselves, then ask
Him to help us turn from it, and to forgive us
for the choices we made that proved He was
right all along!Problem is, that requires us
to take responsibility!
