Eli Miles , Was born in 1803 in North Carolina. He married Mary. Maiden name unknown but she was also born in North Carolina. They had four children . The third child Milton Worth Miles married Three times . His first marriage was to Sarilda Emily and ended when she died. His second marriage was to Lucinda Large on July 23 -1852 in Knox County Kentucky. Lucinda died May 30 - 1858. Milton and Lucinda had two children . Milton Worth Miles third marriage was to Nancy Phillips, in 1875 That marriage ended when he died in 1898. They did not have any children.. He was in the Civil War and was described this way in Nancy's Widows Pension Light colored hair, Light complexion, Black eyes, 5 foot 6 inches tall. Inlisted on the22nd. of September 1864, in Company " A " 30th. Regiment of Indiana Infantry Bal. as a Private. Was Honorably Discharged, June 25th, 1865. The month of Nov. 1864 he took on a severe cold that settled on his lungs and caused him to cough continually and caused a continuos soreness of the lungs. Lived in Walnut Grove , Mitchell Co., Kansas in spring of 1873 . Where he staked a claim . Lived there two or three years had a bad cough and it was |
