The Cat and Dog Rescue Association is a California non-profit Public Benefit Corporation which is also recognized as tax-exempt by the internal Revenue Service under Section 501 (c)(3) of the internal Revenue Code. We are interested in helping animals in three ways:
Our major project at the moment is to raise $100,000 to do a demonstration project to spay and neuter 2,5 00 dogs and cats in one Council District in the City of Los Angeles to prove that neutering and spaying is the best solution to the stray animal control problem - no strays, no need for homeless animals in the shelter. Any and all donations will be very gratefully accepted.
- One of our main activities is to rescue and place abandoned dogs and cats left at rental housing (both apartments and single dwellings). When managers or owners call us we go and get the abandoned animals, make certain they are healthy, (if needed) neuter or spay them, and then place them in good homes. We also help tenants who are moving to find rental housing which will accept pets, or we help the tenants place their animals if they can no longer keep them.
- We promote neutering and spaying of dogs, cats and rabbits and recommend good, low-cost veterinarians, and, when we can, help pay the costs.
- We help people with animal problems in general and promote proper care of pets.
Animals that have been helped by the cat and dog rescue:
Salvador was a 5 month old kitten found scrounging for food in Hollywood. Now he has a home and is neutered. Sunshine Simone Selena is a cute little kitten, now owned by Art Davila. She is quite a frisky kitten. Return to "What to Name Your Cat"
