Mrs. Catherine LIVINGSTONE

Mrs. Catherine LIVINGSTONE, aged 92 years, the widow of Henry LIVINGSTONE, died at the home of her son, Emanuel, on North Fifth street extension, this (Friday) morning at 8:15 o'clock. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mrs. LIVINGSTONE was a native of Somerset county, and came to Indiana with her husband in the late forties. She leaves these children: Noah, Emanuel, Henry, Carlsisle, Mrs. Rose SNYDER, Mrs. Kate RICHARDSON, and Mrs. Hettie TAUBLER, all of this place, and Mrs. Barbara SWEENEY, of near Pittsburg. The funeral services will be held at the home of Emanuel LIVINGSTONE on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. J.W. Cary, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church. (September 27, 1912)

Funeral of Mrs. LIVINGSTONE.

The funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Catherine LIVINGSTONE will be held at her late home on North Fifth street, on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by the Rev. Dr. J.W. Cary, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. These children survive: Emanuel, Noah and Henry LIVINGSTONE, Mrs. Rose SNYDER and Mrs. Caroline WINE, all of Indiana; Mrs. Kate RICHARDSON, of Blairsville; Mrs. Hattie TABLER, of Greenville, Mercer county, and Mrs. Barbara SWEENY, of Zelienople. CHILDREN OF HENRY R.E. AND KATHRYN FRY LIVINGSTON

MRS. BARBARA SWEENY, aged 74 years, a former resident of Homer City died at Zelienople, Pa on July 12. Her remains were brought to the home of her sister, Mrs. Kate RICHARDS of Blairville, on Wednesday. The remains were brought to Indiana for interment. She was the sister of Noah and Henry Livingston of Indiana. (1915)

 

NOAH LIVINGSTON EXPIRES AT HOME OF SON IN BLAIRSVILLE.

Served in War of Rebellion in Company H, Second Battalion, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.

One of Indian's well known citizens and veteran soldiers passed away at the home of his son in Blairsville on Saturday afternoon, when death called Noah LIVINGSTON after several months illness from Bright's disease, aged 73 years.

Noah LIVINGSTON was of German parentage and was born and always resided in Indiana. He was an honest, hard working man and had many friends among our people. Early in the "sixties" he enlisted in the army in the defense of his country and served throughout the war of the rebellion. He was a member of Indiana Post G.A.R., and his efficient services will be missed on Memorial Day, one of his chosen duties being to assist in marking the graves of deceased veterans in the cemeteries adjacent to the town.

Mr. LIVINGSTON had gone last fall to spend the winter with his son, Wm. LIVINGSTON, in Blairsville and became seriously ill there. He is survived by these children: Mrs. Bertha BOLAN of Tarentum; William LIVINGSTON, of Blairsville; Harry LIVINGSTON, of Ohio; Mrs. Minnie McABEE, of Blairsville; and Frank LIVINGSTON, of Indiana. He also leaves these sisters and brother: Mrs. George RICHARDSON, of Blairsville; Mrs. William WINE, of Indiana; Mrs. Adam SNYDER, of Indiana and Mrs. George TAUBLER, of Greenville, Mercer county. Mrs. TAUBLER is in the south for her health and was unable to be here for the funeral.

The remains were brought on Sabath to the home of his son, Frank LIVINGSTON, on Water street, Indiana, where the funeral services were held Monday afternoon by Rev. Dr. B.W. Hutchinson, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery. (1/19/1916)

 

Emanuel LIVINGSTONE, aged 89 years, for many years a well-known resident of this place, was found dead at his home in Chevy Chase this (Thursday) morning at 5:30 o'clock. Death was due to heart trouble, from which he had been suffering for several years. Yesterday Mr. LIVINGSTONE was about as usual and worked at his occupation of landscape gardener. He retired last evening in excellent spirits. This morning about 4 o'clock he awakened the members of his family and said that he was not feeling very well. He went asleep again, however, and at 5:30 o'clock death came.

He leaves his second wife, Mrs. Fanny LIVINGSTONE and two sons, John and James, by a former marriage. These brothers and sisters are also left: Noah and Henry LIVINGSTONE, Mrs. Adam SNYDER, Mrs. W.C. WINE, all of Indiana; Mrs. Kate RICHARDSON, of Blairsville; Mrs. George TAUBLER, of Greenville, Mercer county, and Mrs. Barbara SWEENEY, of Zelienople.

The funeral services will be held at the LIVINGSTONE home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Dr. J.W. Cary, pastor of the Methodist Epicopal church. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery. (7-29-1914)

 

MRS. R. SNYDER DIED SUDDENLY

From a complication of diseases, from which she had been suffering for a number of years, Mrs. Rosa SNYDER, aged 73 years, widow of Adam SNYDER, died at her home on West Church street Saturday evening at 10:30 o'clock. While her health had not been good for some time she was apparntly as well as usual on Saturday and word of her death came as a severe shock to members of her family and her many friends.

The deceased had been a life-long resident of Indiana, being born Feb. 22, 1852, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry LIVINGSTONE. She lived a quiet retired life, but took an active interest in the welfare of her neighbors and friends, to whom she was always ready to minister in times of joy or sorrow. She was a conscientious Christian and a devoted adherent of the Protestant faith, holding membership in Zion Lutheran Church here. The tragic death of her husband, who was killed on the B.R.&P. Railroad near his home several years ago was a profound shock to Mrs. SNYDER and she never fully recovered from the effects of the tragedy. She leaves these children Harry SNYDER of Twelfth street and Mrs. Carrie LAPSLEY of Glassport. She also leaves eight grandsons and two granddaughters.

Funeral services will be conducted in her late residence, 1272 West Church street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by her pastor, the Rev. Joseph B. Baker. Interment will be made in Oakland Cemetery. (Nov. 9, 1925)

FUNERAL OF MRS. ADAM SNYDER

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Adam SNYDER were conducted at her home on West Church street this afternoon at 2 o'clock, by her pastor, the Rev. Joseph B. Baker, D.D. minister of Zion Lutheran Church. Interment was made in Oakland Cemetery. In the obituary notice yesterday it was stated that Mr. SNYDER had been killed by a train on the B.R.&P. Railway. This was an error. Mr. SNYDER died suddenly at the family home about four years ago.

 Mrs. Katherine RICHARDSON, 78, years old, widow of George RICHARDSON, died early today at her home in Railroad avenue, Blairsville, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Joseph KEIBLER, of 620 McClure avenue, Blairsville, at 2:30 p.m. Monday, in charge of the Rev. E.B. Hanks, minister of the Hebron Lutheran Church of Blairsville. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery. (3-12-1932)

Richardson Funeral Yesterday

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine (LIVINGSTON) RICHARDSON, 78 years old, of Blairsville, formerly of Indiana, whose death occurred last Saturday morning, were held yesterday afternoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph KEIBLER, of Blairsville, assisted by the Rev. E.B. Hanks, pastor of the Hebron Lutheran Church of Blairsville, and the Rev. Clair RICHARDSON, of Charleroi, a son of the deceased, with interment in the Blairsville Cemetery.

Mrs. RICHARDSON was a daughter of Henry LIVINGSTON, and Margaret (FREY) LIVINGSTON and was born in Indiana. The deceased was the widow of George S. RICHARDSON, who died in Blairsville in 1898. Mrs. RICHARDSON had resided in Blairsville many years.

The deceased leaves five sons: Harry L. RICHARDSON, Johnstown; James R. RICHARDSON, Cleveland; Arleigh RICHARDSON, Gary Indiana; the Rev. Clair RICHARDSON, Charleroi; and Lyndale RICHARDSON, Blairsville; and four daughters: Mrs. William COX, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Charles H. KISSELL, and Mrs. R.C. McCOOL and Mrs. Joseph KEIBLER, all of Blairsville.

 

DEATH CLAIMS AN AGED RESIDENT OF TENTH STREET

Henry LIVINGSTON, 72, Well-Known Mill-Worker Passes Away After a Brief Illness from Uraemia--Burial Monday

Henry LIVINGSTON, prominent millworker, of 212 South Tenth street, a son of Henry and Kathryn LIVINGSTON (deceased), of White township, died Friday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock of Uraemia at the Indiana Hospital.

He was 72 years and seven months old, having been born April 5, 1854. Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth LIVINGSTON, and these children; Mrs. M.C. WILSON, Indiana, Mrs. I.R. BAKER, of Blairsville, Horace LIVINGSTON, and Mrs. Clay MARTIN, who reside at the family residence. He was the father of Ernest G. LIVINGSTON, who died two years and seven months ago. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Kathryn RICHARDSON of Blairsville, the last member of the family; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His occupation during his lifetime was that of a mill-worker and at the time of his death he was employed at the Daugherty Planning Mill, where he was stricken yesterday morning. He was first taken to his home and later to the hospital.

Mr. LIVINGSTON was member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church and of the Peelor Bible Class.

Funeral services will be conducted in his late home Monday afternoon by his pastor, the Rev. O.B. Emerson. Interment will be made in Oakland Cemetery. (Nov. 13, 1926)

MRS. MARY M. LIVINGSTON, Mrs. Mary MANGUS LIVINGSTONE, aged 70 years, the wife of Noah LIVINGSTONE, died at her home on North Taylor Avenue, Saturday evening, September 19, at 8:15 o'clock. Death was caused by paralysis. She was born and reared near Shelocta. She leaves her husband and these children; Frank, of Indiana; William of Blairsville; Harry of Wheeling, W. Va.; Mrs. Bertha BOLEN, of Tarentum, and Mrs Minnie McAFEE, of Blairsville; The funeral services were held at the LIVINGSTONE home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by the Rev. Dr. J.W. Cary, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. Private interment will be made in Oakland cemetery. (1914)

 

MRS. ELIZABETH (BENCE) LIVINGSTON. Friends of Mrs. LIVINGSTON, whose death occurred in her South Tenth street home at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, are being received in Robinson Funeral Home, where services have been arranged for 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. David R. Graham, pastor of the First Methodist Church, of which the deceased had long been a member, will officiate and interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

A daughter of George and Fanny BENCE, she was born November 5, 1857, in Green Township. Her early life was spent near Dixonville and the family home was established here 60 years ago. Mrs. LIVINGSTON was a member of the Home Department of the Methodist Sunday School and of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

The widow of Henry R. LIVINGSTON, she leaves three daughters: Mrs. M.C. WILSON of Williamstown, W. Va., Mrs. Ira BAKER of Blairsville; Mrs. Clay MARTIN of Indiana; a son Horace LIVINGSTON of Indiana; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry BENCE of Tanoma and two sisters: Mrs. Dillie HENRY of Tanoma and Mrs. Christie STEFFY of Bradford.
