Kori 1997
I wanted to create a place for loved ones to come and learn a little more about hydrocephalus. My oldest daughter, Kori, has hydrocephalus. She is now 13 years old. She was diagnosed when I took her in for her 2-month well baby check-up. She was shunted the following morning at The Children's Hospital, in Denver, Colorado. When she was an infant, I would have given anything to know what to expect from her as she grew up.
Nobody told us that she may be developmentally delayed or that she would be at risk for learning disabilities. I have learned so much in the past few years, that I would hope that I could help somebody else. Above all, I just want everybody to know that Hydrocephalus is not a death sentence. Children are amazingly resilient, and with a lot of love, patience, and hard work, children with hydrocephalus can grow to achieve great things!
So, sit back, check out my links to other hydrocephalus sites, read Kori's story, but most of all check out the links to the personal web pages. Upon them you will meet some amazing children! Don't forget to sign my guest book! Thanks!!!!!!!!!
These were both taken when she was 2 mos old. This is how she looked 5 days before she had her SHUNT installed.
